This is our take on ISO 9001 certification –
They say: “It’s typically understood that an organization claiming ISO 9001 certification is an organization with products and services that meet quality standards”.
We say that statement deceptively suggests that any organisation that chooses not to follow the ISO certification route does not meet any quality standards. In fact, that is far from the truth. We were previously ISO 9001 certified but decided to pull out of it because we were having difficulty in bringing our customer service protocols down to the ISO level.
In our opinion, ISO 9001 is a costly and time consuming paperwork exercise that some companies use as a badge to hide behind and we prefer to expend our energies on our own ethic of proper customer service – so we attach no importance or value to such certification and view it as a layer of bureaucracy that we are happy to live without.
Having said that, the factory that moulds our floats for us are ISO 9001 certified – so, technically, our product is too…
